Episode notes

How to evangelize from innovation and design in-house? Luis Arévalo is a Mexican designer, Director of Innovation and Packaging for Latin America at Kellogg’s.

Luis has decades of experience developing packaging and innovation projects within global CPG companies such as Kimberly Clark and Colgate Palmolive.

In this episode we talk about how he learned to fight and tame the bureaucratic monster that lives inside big corporations and avoids turning innovation into reality. Luis shares with us some of the lessons he has learned over the years in his role as an in-house design leader. He also told me how we can build a package to facilitate the purchase decision process on the shelf.

Luis Arevalo believes that large companies that include design in their strategy give better results in an environment where the real competitors are small companies and startups.

Luis is an international speaker on design, innovation, design thinking, sustainability, design processes and packaging technologies. He also teaches design at several Mexican universities.
