Episode notes

How to innovate in the food industry? Jaime Martín is a founding partner of Lantern, a Madrid-based strategy, innovation and design consultancy firm specializing in the food and beverage sector.

Lantern helps its clients to grow more and better, designing solutions designed to improve people’s lives. Jaime and his team have worked with companies such as Nestlé, Campofrío (Sygma Group), Schweppes Suntory, Thai Union and Pescanova.

He began his career in the U.S., working in investment banking and private equity for Bank of America’s Latam fund. He holds a BA in Economics and Finance from Saint Louis University and an MBA from UCLA-Anderson School of Management.

Eight years living and working in the United States instilled his passion for business development.

In this episode I had the opportunity to learn how he combines his hard side with his soft side, to understand why he believes that in innovation the consumer does not give you everything and also to understand what happens when consumers ask not only why we eat what we eat but also why we manufacture as we do.
